25" stepped, tapered round Half Moon barrel with sculpted ramp front sight, swivel base and sculpted-block-mounted twin folding leaf sights. Exhibition Turkish walnut stock by Darwin Hensley with ebony forend tip, classic wrap-around point-pattern checkering with mullered borders, sidepanels, inletted rear swivel base, double-beaded pancake cheekpiece and steel buttplate. New, Dan'l Fraser patent falling block action with latched sidelever and tang safety, entirely hand built from scratch by Joseph Smithson. All other metalwork by Steve Heilmann, including Zeiss Diavari C 3-9x36 scope on completely custom-made claw mounts, the front base integral with the rear barrel sight base. Engraved by Terry Wallace: extensive gold-highlighted fine rose and scroll with gold inlaid borderlines covering action scope mounts, triggerguard, grip cap, front sight, swivel bases and buttplate. Weight: 8lbs, 3oz. Built 1999. New condition. In heavy, full-length oak and leather case by Bud Shaul with extensive accessories made by Bill Crowley and engraved by Terry Wallace. Winner of the Double Gun Journal Award for a North American Game Rifle, April 2002 at the Gold Medal Concours D'Elegance of Fine Guns. $39,500.
