.700 Nitro Express Cartridge with 1000gr bullet. Four cartridges included with rifle. (.223 cartridge shown for comparison.)


 28" tapered round barrel with well filed and nicely matted quarter rib with

scroll engraved accents to attaching screws, integral sling loop, silver bead

front sight and flip-up ivory night sight on integral ramp base, 1 standing

and 2 folding express sights with inlaid gold lines marked for 25 and 50

yards. 4-1/4" reinforced portion at breech measuring 1.6" in diameter.

Muzzle diameter 1.03". 2" - 2 3/8" drop at comb and heel respectively. 14

7/8"pull to elephant-hide-covered recoil pad. One inch triangles of scroll

engraving either side of front sight base at muzzle, and rear of quarter rib at

breech. Left side of breech is inlaid in gold: .700 Nitro Express. Bench-made,

oversize, Farquharson action by Clayton Nelson with solid one-piece rear

tang extending top to bottom completely through the wrist. Coin-finished

action engraved with shaded open scroll, framing Bulino vignettes of big

game; a quartering cape buffalo in thick cover on right side, and an elephant

in savannah on left, signed J. White. Trigger plate is rust-blued. Trigger is

fire-blued. Operating lever is case hardened. Trigger plate is milled and filed

in classic Farquharson contour. Serial number inlaid in gold on lower tang.

Checkered and blued tang safety with "Safe" inlaid in gold. Exceptionally

fine, dense, marbled and figured Turkish walnut stock by Lars Nelson with

horn forend tip, beaded pancake cheekpiece, sling swivel eye and fine point

pattern checkering with mullered borders. Weight: 16lbs, 4oz. Large oak and

leather full length trunk case with brass corners lined in burgundy cloth, with

5 oak covered compartments with brass knobs, containing 4 cartridges,

cleaning equipment, sling, and a key. Plaque is mounted inside with

information on the .700 H & H cartridge. Virtually new condition. Case is

excellent.  $29,750.
