A Mannlicher Schoenauer carbine with a full stock to the muzzle

A Mannlicher Schoenauer rifle without a full stock to the muzzle.

Kiplauf --- a break open single shot rifle. Above, a Merkel "Carpathianbusche" stocked to the muzzle.
Mannlicher Stock - An (incorrect) term often used to describe a Germanic-styled rifle with a stock extending all the way to the muzzle. The term came into use because the Steyr Mannlicher-Schoenauer rifles, often so styled, were the first exposure many Americans had to that configuration.
