22 1/2" tapered octagon-to-round barrel with full-band swivel base. Highly

figured English walnut stock with ebony forend tip, point-pattern

checkering, skeleton pistol grip cap, classic comb, double-beaded pancake

cheekpiece, inletted rear swivel stud, and hand made skeleton buttplate.

SAKO L461 short action with jeweled bolt, 2-panel checkered bolt knob,

Model 70-type safety, and hinged straddle floorplate with release inside

triggerguard. Metalwork by Ed LaPour, Extensively engraved by Brian

Hochstrat: Flush-inlaid gold scroll at muzzle, swivel, breech and Talley fixed

rings fitting custom action squarebridge dovetails directly without separate

bases. Gold-highlighted deep-chiseled scroll on action, bolt, cocking piece,

floorplate, triggerguard, skeleton grip cap and buttplate; and with gold-

inlaid fox on floorplate. Pull: 13 7/8". Weight: 6lbs, 13oz. New, from maker's

I believe Ed LaPour did the bolt handle, made and fitted the barrel, installed one of his Safety, and built /machined the bridges for Talley rings, and also shaped the top tang. 

Brian of course did all of the engraving.

I did the metal preparation, and the rust bluing and nitre bluing and the bolt jeweling. I attached a photo of me applying the rust bluing solution to different area with a small artists brush. I applied different strength solutions and also manipulated some oxide migration on these pieces, and I think is especially showed well on the floor plate, giving I think some excellent depth to the woods and trees behind the fox.
