Clyde Baker & John Wright, Kansas City. Magnum Mauser Squarebridge Engraved by Rudolph Kornbrath .375 H&H Magnum
Description: 24 1/2" tapered round barrel with full-band front sight, half-band swivel base, matted quarter rib and four folding express sights. Figured European walnut stock with horn forend tip, classic point-pattern wrap-around checkering, beaded pancake cheekpiece, compartmented steel pistol grip cap, vacant gold escutcheon under forend, vacant gold oval under toe, rear swivel stud and Silvers red rubber recoil pad. Mauser Magnum Squarebridge action with all matching numbers, Mauser banner on underside of bolt, hand-scraped bolt, checkered trigger, 2-panel checkered bolt knob, hinged straddle floorplate with release inside triggerguard, original Mauser safety and folding peep sight built into rear receiver bridge. Scroll engraved by Rudolph Kornbrath and with bear head on triggerguard and a gold cape buffalo head on floorplate. Pull: 14". Weight: 9lbs, 7oz. Built ca 1927. Very little used.
Clyde Baker wrote the book, Modern Gunsmithing., Stackpole, 1933. John Wright was the head stockmaker for Hoffman Arms.
