25 1/2" tapered round barrel, turned, machined and filed from a 2 1/8-inch-

diameter Krieger barrel blank, leaving integral front sight ramp, sculptured

sling swivel base, quarter rib (with 1 standing and 2 folding gold-lined

express sights) and recoil lug under forend area, signed: HEILMANN

FISHER HANDS and double gold banded at breech and muzzle. Stocked

with a well-aged piece of highly figured Turkish walnut, the grain structure

following the curve of the wrist, widow's-peaked ebony forend tip, classic

point-pattern checkering with mullered borders, engraved forend tie-down

and double recoil crossbolts, steel trapdoor pistol grip cap, classic comb,

beaded pancake cheekpiece, vacant gold initial oval, pedestalled rear sling

swivel mount, and dark brown pigskin-covered recoil pad. Granite Mountain

magnum double-squarebridge action with jeweled bolt and follower, top

tang extending over comb, bottom tang extending to grip cap, hinged

straddle floorplate with release inside triggerguard, custom trigger, and

Model 70-type safety. Extensively engraved by FEGA president Barry Lee

Hands, with three-dimensional scroll in steel and raised gold floral patterns

on express sight, action, bottom metal, upper and lower tangs, scope rings,

grip cap---highlighted with a tiny inlaid diamond. Three-dimensional cape

buffalo on floorplate. Leupold VX-7 1.5-6x24mm matted-finish scope with

bold duplex reticle on rings made by Steve Heilmann, fitted directly to

receiver squarebridges and fastened with a special tool, also engraved and

gold-inlaid by Barry Lee Hands. Pull: 14 3/4". Weight: 11lbs, 8 1/2oz, scoped.

Cased with accessories by Marvin Huey in dark oak, lined with forest green

fabric and covered in black elephant hide, shot by Jerry's good friend Jim

Carkhuff. Fired only three times, by Steve Heilmann, with three shots

touching at 50 yards. Subject of cover article in the ACGG's Gunmaker
