Dakota Arms Model 76 Classic .270 Winchester








The above photo shows the magazine-floorplate in place. It appears to open like an Argentine Mauser, hinged at the front and with a release catch inside the triggerguard bow.
The below photo shows the magazine-floorplate assembly, partially removed. What had appeared to be a hinge, is actually a dovetailed key, fittting just into a recess at the forward end of the solid bottom metal. It is released in the normal way---by pushing forward on the catch inside the triggerguard. But, rather than hinging downward at the front, it tilts downward a bit and then can be removed entirely.
