25" SxS chopper-lump barrels with both small gold bead and flip-up twilight bead on a finely matted and partially scroll engraved front sight ramp, 1 standing and 1 folding gold-lined express sights engraved 100 and 200, finely matted quarter rib engraved with calibre designation, serial number and a small sunburst at the breech, sunken rib engraved 'Hartmann & Weiss. Hamburg - London'. 14"pull from front trigger to half-inch leather-covered recoil pad. Highly figured walnut stock with beaded pancake cheekpiece, Anson-pushbutton-release splinter forend, classic point-pattern checkering, engraved and color hardened pistol grip cap, teardrops, vacant gold oval and sling swivel. Holland & Holland-type back action sidelock with concealed third fastener, Holland & Holland-style serpentine side-bolsters, York & Wallin locks with intercepting sears, removable striker discs, extended top and bottom tangs, automatic safety with SAFE inlaid in gold, gold-inlaid cocking indicators, rolled-edge triggerguard and Boss patent ejectors. Best English rose and scroll engraving by H Funk, the action bar gold-inlaid 'Hartmann & Weiss', the underside finely engraved 'Hartmann & Weiss. Hamburg - London.' and the action and fore-end iron initialed 'P.N.'---for Peter V. Nelson, the individual builder of the rifle. Zeiss Diavari-C 1.5 – 4.5 x 18 telescopic sight with bold post and crossbars reticle on Hartmann & Weiss quick-detachable 'One Piece Mount'---the only one ever made. Weight: 9lb, 8oz with scope; 8lbs, 2oz without. Completed in 1988. Very little used and retaining virtually full original color-hardened finish and barrel blue with minor striations on breech face due only to action of Boss ejectors. In new Hartmann & Weiss blue baize lined, pigskin leather trunk case with heavy leather-trimmed linen overcase built in 2011 after complete inspection and cleaning by the maker. With snap caps, oil bottle, turnscrews, sling, cleaning kit and current black leather maker's trade label. The only Peter Nelson / Hartmann & Weiss 9.3x74R double rifle. London proofed. Unmatched quality.
