Gunmakers Guild Custom Springfield 1903, 100th Anniversary Rifle

26" round Krieger barrel with Wisner full-band hooded front sight and

integral full-band swivel base. Integral full-band rear sight base with integral

recoil lug on the underside. 1 standing and 2 folding express sights regulated

for and engraved 50, 100 and 200 yards. Stocked in the style of a pre-war

Griffin & Howe sporter by Bruce Farman of oil-finished, fully-fiddleback

quarter-sawn California English walnut with ebony forend tip, steel capped

pistol grip, Hoffman-style double-beaded pancake cheekpiece, subtly fluted

comb, 24 LPI wrap-around point-pattern checkering, inletted rear swivel

base and smooth steel buttplate. Metalwork by Ed Lapour: custom

squarebridge Springfield 1903 action with military clip charger slot removed,

custom flush-fitting detented bolt stop, three-position Model 70-type

safety, Canjar trigger with classic shaped shoe, original Springfield cocking

knob, integrally faired-in Griffin & Howe sidemount base, jeweled bolt,

custom bolt handle with 4-panel checkered knob, and Wisner one-piece

Robert Evans with acanthus scroll, highlighted with French gray and gold

24" tapered round barrel with quarter rib (with 1 standing and 3 folding gold-

lined express sights regulated for 50, 100, 200 and 250 yards), integrally

machined full-band front sight base (with hood) and swivel stud. Stocked

with highly figured California English walnut: ebony forend tip, 26 lines-

per-inch classic point-pattern checkering with mullered borders, double

reinforcing crossbolts, beaded pancake cheekpiece, steel trapdoor pistol grip

cap, inletted and sculptured rear swivel stud, and leather-covered recoil pad.

Hand rubbed varnish finish. Mauser 98 action with double squarebridges,

original-design Mauser safety with SAFE and FIRE inlaid in gold, integral

extended top and bottom tangs, completely scratch-made bottom metal

including lever-release floorplate, custom trigger, bolt handle and integral

shotgun-style triggerguard. Engraved by Terry Wallace: fine scroll on front

sight, swivel studs, quarter rib, action body, triggerguard and pistol grip cap.

Albrecht Durer's coat of arms on floorplate. Case colorhardened action,

1903 Takedown Carbine

17 3/4" barrel with barrel-band front sight, 1 standing and 1 folding express

sight. Finely custom stocked with prominently straight-grained dark oil-

finished English walnut in classic Griffin & Howe style and using all the

original furniture; with horn forend tip, hand detachable forend crosspin

engaging barrel-band retainer, wrap-around point-pattern checkering with

mullered borders, steel capped pistol grip, beaded pancake cheekpiece, sling

swivels and steel trapdoor buttplate. Single trigger action with steel rotary

magazine, takedown lever at front of triggerguard, Mauser-type safety and

matching numbers. With both period Zeiss Zielvier scope with pointed-post
