       Trapdoor Buttplate Revealing Spare Magazine.

20" barrel with integrally-machined ramp front sight (with hood), integrally-machined full-band swivel base and integrally-machined quarter rib with 1 standing bone-inlaid and 1 folding gold-lined express sight, engraved 50 and 100 yards. Stocked with fully figured walnut by Maurice Ottmar: ebony forend tip with widow's peak, double-beaded pancake cheekpiece, classic wrap-around point-pattern checkering with mullered borders and complimentary widow's peak at forend, engraved steel pistol grip cap, vacant gold oval, inletted and pedestalled rear swivel base and trapdoor buttplate containing spare magazine. Metalwork by Jack Belk: action made from two US Springfield 1922 M2 .22 training rifle actions, cut and rejoined to a shortened double-squarebridge with Mauser-style bolt stop, Model 70-type safety, jeweled bolt, pierced bolt knob, detachable magazine concealed inside hinged straddle floorplate with release inside triggerguard. Engraved by Eric Gold: fox chasing rabbit on floorplate and fine rose & scroll with gray-etched and gold-line accents covering receiver. Rust blue by Maurice Ottmar; Grey finish by Eric Gold. Weight: 8lbs. Pull: 13 1/2". Oak & leather case by Marvin Huey with accessories and canvas overcase.   The American Custom Gunmakers Guild, founded in 1983, is dedicated to the advancement of the art of custom gun building. Each year the organization creates a special custom gun which is raffled at their annual convention each January in Reno.
