7 1/2" barrel with adjustable sights. Flat top frame. Exhibition engraved,

including sides of front sight, hammer and trigger. Checkered hammer,

trigger, cylinder release, frontstrap and backstrap. Smooth mother-of-pearl

grips. Period black hard case lined with purple velvet. Made for target

shooter Charles H. Wilson; CHW monogram on triggerguard. Probably

engraved by A O Zischang of Syracuse, New York like the one in the Colt

Engraving Book, which see: Vol 2, p546. No markings under grips at all.

Even-numbered serial 315000. Mfd 1909. 99%blue. Excellent bore. Pictured

in Bleile's Engraving in the 21st Century.

Custom Two Barrel-Set. .38 Special

Two octagon barrel exterior sleeves, 5" and 8 1/4" long, both with octagonal

ejector rod housings and full-length flat solid ribs. Four internal barrel tubes:

a .45 and a .38 calibre for each barrel length. Ivory-handled barrel wrench for

changing configurations. Dual cylinders. Smooth ivory grip to the left. High-

relief-carved ivory grip on right with (genuine) ruby-eyed gloating vulture by

Darwin Hensley. Adjustable rear sight. Shortened triggerguard and

repositioned trigger. Finish by Pete Mazur: mostly French grey finish with

details of both rust blue and fire blue. Gold-plated internals. Fine scroll and

gold borderline engraved by Sam Welch. In custom made, French-fitted, solid

bubinga wood display case. Built in 1980---the only handgun Darwin

Hensley ever built. With letter from Darwin. New condition.

First Generation Cavalry -- Ainsworth Inspected

7 1/2" barrel with early "script" style barrel address. Smooth one-piece

walnut grips. Two-line patent date markings. OWA cartouche on left grip.

Small type US marking. Bullseye ejector rod tab. Ainsworth's "A" stamped

underside barrel, right grip bottom, cylinder, triggerguard and top of

backstrap. All matching numbers on barrel, cylinder, frame, triggerguard and

buttstrap. P underside barrel and on cylinder. C inside hammer slot. C and G

on barrel under ejector rod housing. Manufactured in 1874. Traces original

case colors on hammer and frame. Traces original blue on underside of grip

and underside of barrel. Hammer makes four succinct clicks as it is pulled

back. Both half-cock and full cock hold firmly. Cylinder locks up tightly.

Virtually excellent bore.

Colt Single Action Army .44-40 Win. $9,975

3rd Generation - Engraved

5 1/2" barrel with skeletonized front sight. Screwless frame. Small

triggerguard. Nickel finish. Smooth ivory one-piece grips. Fire-blued small

parts. Engraved by Leonard Francolini, signed in script on the bottom

forward edge of the frame: about 3/4 coverage fine intertwining scroll. Mfd

1992. Unfired and in new condition.

3rd Generation - Engravers Sampler Edition Prototype

5 1/2" barrel. Full blue. Smooth, full-thickness mother-of-pearl grips. This

revolver was the prototype for the Old World Engravers Sampler. Class "C"

engraved in four different styles. Top of the backstrap inlaid with blue

cloisonné ceramic Script Colt logo by Colt master engraver Steve Kamyk.

Engravers names LD Nimschke, G Young, C Helfricht and R Kornbrath on

end of butt. Built 2002. New unfired and unturned in original blue Colt box

and white outer box and with factory letter confirming specification.

Engraved with Class "B" expert level engraving in several styles of scroll in

use over the last 150 years. All matching numbers. Engravers names LD

Nimschke, G Young, C Helfricht and R Kornbrath on end of butt. Actual

factory engraver's name, Tom Freyberger. Top of the backstrap inlaid with

cloisonné ceramic Script Colt logo by Colt master engraver Steve Kamyk.

Built 1997 and shipped to Al DeJohn, manager of the Colt Custom Shop.

Unfired and unturned. In Colt walnut presentation case with deluxe

turnscrews, cleaning rod, brush and oil bottle. Factory letter confirming

specification and with advertising tearsheet featuring the Old World

Engravers Sampler, signed by Al DeJohn.

Mexico City Percussion Revolver (approx)

2 1/4" barrel. Smooth walnut grips. Marked A Company on left side of

frame and Weston's Mexico on top of barrel flat. Loading lever operates.

Pulling back on hammer cocks and revolves cylinder. Pulling trigger drops

hammer. With powder flask, bullet mold with sprue-cutter, combination

screwdriver/nipple-wrench, extra percussion nipple and 13 bullets. Overall

length, 4 inches. In red leather lined mahogany case measuring 4 1/2" x 2" x

13/16". Built ca 1950. Very little used.
